Police Youth Volunteers raising awareness of rogue traders

Pcsos and PoliceYouth Volunteers

Police Youth Volunteers have once again been out raising awareness of rogue traders in the Cefn Glas area of Bridgend. Police Youth Volunteers supported by local PCSO’s, Joel Hopkins, Elinor Pearce together with PC Sarah Egan and PCSO Lisa Moore called on residents to discuss their fears and impress the importance of calling South Wales Police if cold called.

Many residents welcomed the volunteers and were happy to complete a questionnaire with residents keen to seek further advice and support on how to protect themselves from cold callers on the door as well as over the phone.

The initiative has resulted in residents feeling more reassured and confident in reporting any issues, as often this type of crime is heavily unreported or reported via a third party. Follow up visits will be carried out to those who were identified as more vulnerable and requiring additional support.
