Volunteers help deliver crime prevention messages

Volunteers raising awareness of crime prevention

An army of volunteers has hit the streets of Porthcawl to advise residents on how to steer clear of crime.

The voluntary crime-fighters joined forces with the Bridgend Community Safety Department on an awareness-raising exercise during a day of action to target rogue traders.
The aim of the operation was to disrupt the activities of those suspected to be involved in rogue trader activities and develop intelligence on suspects.
The volunteers were used to raise public awareness of doorstep crime and provided reassurance to reduce the fear of crime among residents.
